Happy December! As we approach Winter Break, I want to thank our family members, teachers, staff
and students for making Anthony a great school. Every new school year brings changes and new focuses. Our teachers have been open to new learning and ideas while still continuing to plan and teach
challenging lessons. Our students have shown growth both academically and socially. Working together, all families and staff members have made Anthony Elementary a positive community. Thank you!
This past November, Anthony family veterans were honored with our second annual Veterans Day
Assembly. Veterans, family members and students enjoyed a wonderful performance from our third
grade students as they performed various patriotic songs in honor of veterans. Ms. Smith, our music
teacher, and our third grade students did a great job and it was an honor to welcome all of our local
veterans from our community.
In an effort to make our lunch procedure more efficient, we will be implementing a finger scanning
identification system as part of our payment system. This will allow us to reduce any errors in charging
students for meals as well as speed up our breakfast and lunch lines. You should have received a
permission form in Thursday folders. Please complete this form and return it to school. Your help in
this matter is appreciated. We are always looking at ways to improve our cafeteria processes.
As we approach the Winter Break, I did want to remind everyone about some upcoming dates:
- Winter Break starts Friday, December 20th and students return Tuesday, January 7th.
- 2nd Quarter Grade Cards will be sent home after Winter Break with students.
- Please look for information on Spring Student Showcase to be sent home when we return from Winter Break.
Lastly, with the cold weather setting in, please let Ms. McConnell, Ms. Reardon, or the Front Office
know if any student is in need of a winter coat, hat, or gloves as well as other resources for Winter
Season. We always want to help whenever we can for our families.
Have a wonderful Winter Break with family and friends.
Thanks,
Scott Kessler
